Our client, a government organisation, required a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) provider for permanent recruitment across all their departments, including technology, finance, human resources, commercial, marketing and operations.
They were looking for support with filling a high number of permanent, fixed-term contract, and contracting roles within the first year of the partnership, as well as support delivering a volume project for specialists with financial services experience.
Our client had a very specific internal recruitment policy, with no previous use of an applicant tracking system, put in place to ensure all campaigns are open and fair. We were tasked with working in a difficult candidate market within the technology sector, recruiting for niche roles where the private sector salary offering is much higher than that in the public sector.
The client also required Reed Talent Solutions to complete onboarding compliance checks prior to each candidate’s start date.
Reed Talent Solutions set up a thorough recruitment process, which matched our client's internal recruitment policy and utilised appropriate onboarding technology.
This included ensuring all CVs were anonymised and assessed by a diverse panel of three people. Interviews were also conducted by three people and candidates were assessed using an agreed criteria.
We attracted candidates via niche job boards which were chosen dependent on sector, and utilised testing (ISV testing, our client's specific Technical Knowledge tests, Hogan Behavioural Assessment) for niche roles to ensure all the positions were filled and retention was high.
To ensure all candidates were 100% compliant to the required level we utilised Reed Screening, the Reed Group’s 24/7 pre-employment vetting service.
To keep our client well informed, our dedicated team also scheduled weekly update calls, and delivered regular campaign reports and management information (MI).
Our key points of contact were always available to discuss any concerns or issues, and to update our client on individual campaigns or with any required MI.
They provided thorough market research to support our client's office relocation as part of government’s Places for Growth Programme, as well as insight to market trends and support with individualised recruitment campaigns for senior-level roles.
They also worked with Reed Talent Solution’s talent attraction marketing specialist to tackle employee value proposition and attraction strategies.
We successfully filled 178 permanent vacancies and 27 contracting vacancies in the first year of the contract, and developed a positive relationship with our client across all departments.
This included 56 pensions specialists for their financial awareness programme in a record time of two months.
Our work also resulted in an increased social media presence for our client via the use of Reed Talent Solutions’s and their individual profiles, with the provision of social tiles with their imagery and branding central to this success.
We also introduced our client's diversity and inclusion partners to our Women in Technology Mentoring Programme
And we received positive feedback from our client's senior stakeholders.
