Our social value
Guided by our purpose of improving lives through work, we strive to create meaningful social impact, champion sustainability, and uphold the highest standards of corporate responsibility.
Driving positive change through people, partnerships, and purpose
At Reed Talent Solutions, social value activities sit at the core of who we are. We believe businesses should drive lasting, positive change, and we embed this commitment across everything we do - from how we support individuals into work, to how we partner with clients, communities, and suppliers.
Creating opportunity for all
Across the Reed Group, we supported 1.2 million people into work last year, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or lived experience. Through targeted programmes and inclusive partnerships, we actively remove barriers, promote equity, and create environments where people feel safe, welcome, and valued.
Strengthening communities
Our impact extends well beyond employment. We invest in local communities through volunteering, partnerships, and grassroots initiatives - from inspiring future talent in schools to supporting food banks, charities, and community organisations addressing local needs. Our co-members regularly give their time and expertise, strengthening both the organisations they support and the people who rely on them.
Responsible & inclusive supply chain
Our commitment to social value is also embedded in our supply chain. We actively support local and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) suppliers by identifying and onboarding them into our network, ensuring they have equitable access to opportunities. Where appropriate, we elevate suppliers to first-tier status, giving them greater visibility and direct access to contracts.
Since 2024, we have directed more than £74 million in spend through local and MSME suppliers - strengthening regional economies while benefiting from the innovation, agility, and specialist expertise these organisations bring.
We believe strong partnerships drive better outcomes. That’s why we foster collaboration across our supplier network through knowledge-sharing, open dialogue, and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes forums such as our quarterly Social Care Committee, where partners come together to share insight, address sector challenges, and develop innovative approaches. Through this collective effort, we amplify social value outcomes including local employment, skills development, and community engagement.
Environmental sustainability
Sustainability is equally central to our strategy. We have reduced emissions by 29% since 2019 and continue to focus on reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and supporting biodiversity. Our approach ensures environmental responsibility sits alongside social and economic impact as part of a truly integrated ESG strategy.
A business model that gives back
Our impact is further strengthened by our philanthropy-driven model. As a PhilCo, 18% of Reed is owned by the Reed Foundation, meaning our commercial success directly supports social good. Since 1972, the foundation has donated more than £9.5 million, and through the Big Give we have helped raise over £449 million for charities worldwide. This structure reflects our belief that business can - and should - be a powerful force for good.
Delivering value together
We are committed to delivering measurable value for the organisations and communities we work with. For partners seeking strong ESG alignment and a genuinely responsible supplier, we help build a fairer, greener, and more sustainable future - together.
