Reed Talent Solutions was proud to be represented at the In House Recruitment Diversity, Equity and Inclusion conference, where our resident DE&I expert, Iain MacLeod, delivered a thought-provoking session on embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDI&B) into organisational culture.
In an increasingly visible and volatile world, Iain highlighted the critical importance of EDI&B policies, not just for internal teams, but also for the communities and individuals that organisations serve. His session explored four foundational pillars essential to fostering inclusive environments:
Awareness of bias, barriers, privilege, and power
Genuine curiosity about others
Visible, active commitment to inclusion
Humility in leadership and practice
The session provided tangible takeaways at both individual and organisational levels, Iain encouraged organisations to identify their unique areas of influence, particularly in sectors like recruitment, where businesses like Reed Talent Solutions can drive meaningful change.
On an individual level, Iain shared practical actions that contribute to inclusive cultures, such as challenging inappropriate behaviours, creating space for quieter voices, and consistently advocating for equity in everyday interactions.
By addressing allyship from both organisational and personal perspectives, Iain reinforced that inclusion is not the responsibility of a single party, it must be embedded into the culture and embraced by everyone.
