With the UK facing an acute talent shortage exacerbated by the pandemic, Brexit and other factors, organisations are struggling to attract people with the skills they need to flourish.
Reports reveal that the UK is on track for an economic inactivity rate among 15- to 75-year-olds of 30.8% by 2030, the highest level since 2001. The rate currently stands at 29.5%. In the recent spring budget set out by Jeremy Hunt, it’s clear the Chancellor is hoping to entice some of the nine million ‘economically inactive’ to return to work.
