Go! London, a £19.5m fund established through a partnership between the Mayor of London, London Marathon Foundation, Sport England, London Marathon Events, and London Sport, is dedicated to empowering young Londoners facing physical, social, economic, or educational challenges. By improving access to sport and physical activity, the initiative aims to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, employability, safety, and community relationships across the capital.

In July 2024, Reed Talent Solutions proudly participated in the first Go! London forum at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, hosted by the Civil Society & Sport network at the Greater London Authority (GLA). Working closely with Paulina Turcan, Partnerships and Engagement Manager - Civil Society and Sport, at the Mayor of London’s office, and Rozina Ahmed, Events Officer for GLA, we collaborated to design impactful activities for the event, including CV writing workshops, interview preparation sessions, and a live demonstration of Reed’s virtual work experience tool, Gateway to work. These initiatives aimed to equip young people with the skills and confidence needed to navigate the job market.

The event saw over 100 attendees visit the Reed Talent Solutions stand, seeking expert advice on topics ranging from CV writing to career transitions. Our team played a vital role in ensuring the day was inclusive and supportive for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in afternoon activities such as boxing, basketball, NFL flag football, and wellbeing walks, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

Reflecting on the event, Iain MacLeod, Reed Talent Solutions’ EDI&B Consultant, highlighted its success: “The forum was an excellent example of how one of our clients can bring diverse communities together to utilise their unique skills in a shared purpose for the next generation.”

Joe Hallows, Business Development Executive at Reed Talent Solutions added: The relaxed and collaborative environment helped start meaningful conversations and allowed us to provide valuable insights to young people around employability.”

The positive feedback from the GLA and event delegates underscores the success of the forum and the importance of partnerships in creating opportunities for young Londoners. Reed Talent Solutions is already in discussions with the GLA to support the 2025 event, continuing its commitment to empowering the next generation through collaboration and community engagement.

The Go! London initiative exemplifies the transformative power of collective action, and with the support of partners like Reed Talent Solutions, it is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people across the city.
