At Reed Talent Solutions, social value is at the heart of our partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA), shaping how we deliver solutions that create meaningful impact. This commitment was exemplified through our recent collaboration with the Women’s Network at the GLA, where we worked together to deliver insights and support around key workplace challenges, including unconscious bias, intersectionality, and career development.

The Women’s Network, recognising the value of Reed Talent Solutions’ expertise, sought our partnership to address critical topics such as job application trends, the influence of job advertising on workforce diversity, and practical advice for navigating the job market. In conversations with the chair and vice chair of the network, they highlighted their ongoing efforts to manage the gender pay gap and foster equitable development for their staff. Together, we designed a tailored workshop to meet these goals.

Delivering expertise and support

With the support of Reed Talent Solutions’ Service Delivery Manager and active member of Reed’s gender working group Phoebe Austin, and Steve Clark, Talent Acquisition Manager, we delivered an engaging workshop that addressed the Women’s Network’s key areas of focus. The session provided actionable insights into unconscious bias, intersectionality, and strategies for creating inclusive workplaces, resonating strongly with attendees.

In addition to the workshop, Reed Talent Solutions co-members hosted one-on-one CV review sessions. These personalised sessions offered practical advice on CV layout, personal information, employment history, and career progression - empowering participants to take the next steps in their professional journeys.

Positive feedback and lasting impact

The feedback from the Women’s Network was overwhelmingly positive. The chair and vice chair told us they found the presentation from our team “helpful and interesting”, and the CV one-to-one sessions were “hugely popular”. Overall, they praised us for the quality our contribution on the day.

The success of these sessions highlighted our expertise as recruitment specialists and our ability to deliver impactful, tailored support. Building on this, we have now launched a ‘Career buddy programme’ in partnership with the Women’s Network. This initiative pairs Reed Talent Solutions co-members with GLA mentees to provide ongoing advice and mentorship, helping individuals grow, develop, and thrive in their careers.

A commitment to social value

Our collaboration with the Women’s Network underscores the importance of social value in our partnership with the GLA. By fostering open conversations and identifying opportunities to empower individuals at all career levels, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to creating positive change.

Through initiatives like these, we are proud to support the GLA in driving equity, inclusion, and professional development, ensuring that social value remains a cornerstone of our work.
